About the Brand

Perseverance Before Glory (PBG) is more than just a clothing brand; it’s a testament to resilience, community, and hope. The roots of PBG trace back to 2012 in my hometown North Minneapolis, and my experiences with a close friend who, despite life’s challenges, came together to uplift one another under a group he claimed as, Paper Bag Gang. Which was united by a shared vision: to strive for success and provide for our families.

However, life exposed us to a different outlook when we faced a life changing event late one night during a routine walk we have made hundreds of times. This experience profoundly impacted our friendship and ignited a collective desire to foster positive change and support for one another. The acronym PBG evolved into a powerful symbol of our shared journey and our unwavering commitment to persevere through life's obstacles together.

In early 2019, when my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I launched PBG as a fundraising initiative to help cover some of her medical expenses. We organized a banquet with friends and family, selling PBG sweaters and long sleeves to support her. This experience not only deepened my commitment to my family but, it was also during this time that PBG evolved into a brand with a greater purpose.

Today, PBG aims to give back to under-served communities by donating 25% of all purchases to provide school supplies for children in need. Our mission is to double our impact each year, ensuring that every child has the resources they need to succeed in school. We aspire to eventually establish a facility that offers free tutoring and affordable training for athletes, creating a nurturing environment for future generations.

PBG is a journey of community support and perseverance, honoring the past while building a brighter future for families and children in need. We believe in the power of perseverance and the importance of supporting one another.
